I could've sworn i saw the time left remaining until my auxiliary returned before but I can't seem to find that now. is it possiple to check how much time is left on their search? if so how?

Use the Terminal in the Room, there's an option there to check their remaining time.

You can also go to the salon and check Manage Auxiliaries
