So, in regards to the recent revelations about getting banned for ERP.

@HarmlessSyan I am sorry that my translation is not good enough. I tried to translate his maniacal and self-centered personality as accurately as possible, and not a single lie was mixed in. Thank you for understanding his insanity.

@ZundaKitsune said in So, in regards to the recent revelations about getting banned for ERP.:

Act on Regulation and Punishment of Acts Relating to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, and the Protection of Children

I only had to glance with my eyes fogged over from too much drink to know that's a weak law, only seems to apply to "being paid" and "making photographs or videos"

In fact, I even knew that before. In short: they don't really care much, even if he broke it. It's there to get rid of people they want to REALLY get rid of.

I just wanted to post this here, to give better gravity to this whole thing. Just because a small minority is in full agreement with every ban, to a disturbing degree, and unquestionably so, that's not how everyone feels right now. The moderation staff needs to all get on the same page, because as this Reddit post points out, there are discrepancies in the bans and contradictory statements being made, that don't accurately reflect the truth, and this coupled with 4chan trolls using this as ammunition against said moderation staff, and SEGA as a whole, it's creating a rift within the community that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Also don't just say I'm taking a person's word for their innocence, I know there were bad eggs, there are in any society/community. But I also believe in innocent until proven guilty, and I have to by my nature, give these people the benefit of the doubt. If they deserved the bans fine, but at least acknowledge it's possible mistakes were potentially made, because nobody is perfect, and nobody is expecting you to be. What they do expect is honesty and accountability.

Edit: to clarify, I'm sharing the initial post, which reflects what I've learned from personally seeking out the info elsewhere online, as this poster seems to share my view on the inconsistency faced with moderation, as well as most other opinions in general. The comments that follow are mixed with genuine concerns, and posts that are clearly people from 4chan upset they are being removed from the game. So read those at your own risk.

Lets all go back to the beginning and ask yourself, who made those costume and sold it for I dunno how many hundred dollars worth of AC in the first place (hello sega? )What is the game rated at (Rated-M). Why don't those ban happy staffs who dosent even know anything about the actual game itself login to base pso2, zoom in and look at some of the npc designs.

Sega started and sold this ERP trend as intended no question about that, and they ban people for it.

I'm one of the few who played from day1 and still using the default look and costume but I still think this ban wave is ridiculous, especially the part about unreported private/group/alliance chat is compelety horseshit.

Recent events in Ohio where it should explain to those outside the states typical American concerns about the solicitation of ERP.

ERP is seen as an Adult Only topic, and PSO2/PSO2NGS is strictly PEGI 16+/ESRB 17+.

Just because you claim that FFXIV moderators don't have a problem with this sort of behavior doesn't indicate that the Japanese side of a Global company branch may permit such behavior for prolonged periods of time.

Especially after V-tubers can grant publicity such as this.

I'm going to have to agree that this is a repetitive topic of not much solution other than some users needing to understand thier surroundings as well as the platforms/companies working above SEGA on this game.

@MasterDarkwingz This Product may not be appropriate for children under a certain age. Where possible, SEGA shall provide an indication of the appropriate age based on the content contained within the Product using a games rating. The games rating is a guideline only and SEGA shall not be liable in the event that you deem such material to be inappropriate for the age rating in all the circumstances. Please be aware that not all features of the Product are rated and some features may contain adult language and material.

@AngryRhombus563 And yet Microsoft/Xbox provides privacy tools in which makes PSO2/PSO2NGS available for minors.

As the said CM said on Discord, 1600 Users Suspended does not equate into 1600 perma bans.

This discussion is becoming weary and irksome.

Why are you entertaining such a disingenuous argument?

@NIC i know he dodged the response with something stupid that doesnt refute reality, but i will still answer with whats required

@AngryRhombus563

Xbox/Microsoft reserves the right to remove any content they deem against the family-friendly nature of the console-

Including user's SA and ERP behavior.

Removal of SEGA's responsibility for minor behavior does not remove the risk of a lawsuit if an adult solicits a minor to ERP.

In what world do you live in where a company can be sued for ERP?

@MasterDarkwingz Youre clearly not old enough to comprehend, mature enough, or willing to accept the games terms and agreements .

Uninstall the game immediately

I think most people are missing something very important about ESRB ratings.

ONLINE INTERACTIONS ARE NOT RATED BY THE ESRB.

This means that people can do whatever they want amongst themselves. If people wanted to ERP in ToonTown or Club Penguin, it wouldn't have changed the ratings one bit. Anyone invoking the ESRB in this topic is doing it out of ignorance or bad faith.
