Concerning Re-released Content…

Not discussing JUST outfits. God, what is with the site coding here? Would be really nice to edit my posts.

Yet...the topic has been about outfits. Sega doesn't just give out free outfits. Never have in Fresh Finds or the Fun Scratch. Also you post here and don't know you can edit posts...

@XenoBladeX37645

Pretty sure Sega gave away plenty of free Outfits and Camos. Not really nice ones depending on who you ask but free.

I can think of very few free outfits.

@Weirdo

Right out of my head i believe i still have those:

  • Red Rappy
  • Rappy Queen
  • The Steam Outfit

Those are the ones i still have and remember right now. I mean i can count all the Outfits from the FFshop because i got them for free but because you had the option to pay for them i leave them out for now.

I would also consider the PvP Oufits free and all the starting outfits you can purchase for some Meseta at the NPC in the shoping plaza. So there are in fact plenty of free outfit options.

Also pilgrim outfit from the Thanksgiving event and the Kirito and Asuna outfits from the SAO event.

@Weirdo Then I should be more exact. I wasn't referring to event outfits

Yeah, I thought so and when it comes to non-event all I can think of are starter outfits and the few from the special currency shops like the rappy outfit in the buster medal shop, the pvp outfits, and the character suits in the casino. Any others like mission badge ones are no longer obtainable due to no way to get mission badges anymore.

@Weirdo

Ahhhh yes Asuna and Kirito how could i not remember. Still have those aswell....dont use them tho.

@XenoBladeX37645

Ahhhh common thats playing dirty now. You cant just say that Sega never gave away free outfits and then you get proven wrong and say :" Yeah i mean except those."

@Weirdo yeah thats where my thinking was

You can edit your posts though.

@Weirdo It doesn’t work with my tablet. I’ve already tried that.

Oh incompatibility issues with the function.

@Malphisto best to use a pc for it then

Only computer I have is strictly for work. It’s fine, I’ll deal.

Anyway, the matter regarding free outfits is ultimately irrelevant. The Fun Scratcher was just one analogy I decided to use to make a broader point regarding the warped views some folks around here have towards Free content and the suspiciously odd double standards in logic. Basically I was pointing out flawed reasoning.

On an aside note, event outfits are still in the category of free cosmetics…lol Saying they don’t count is essentially moving the goal post. Another Bad Faith Debate Tactic. In reality the argument has been over for a while, now it’s just posturing.

To reiterate the point, Devs will release content made available to players at no real world monetary cost. When they put out cosmetics for free, regardless of the venue, they do in fact take a financial hit to profits. Cause they aren’t maximizing monetary gains in those instances. The reasoning behind that practice is because they get something else in exchange. Providing free content is an investment for long term gain. As I’ve already explained.

So on its face, it’s a silly position. “Why would the Devs give players something for free” is a question only asked by someone with no real knowledge of the industry or business practices.
