Take the time to thank your fellow whales in game.

@Cult0fpersnality Nope, that's a bonus for a number of AC Scratches used on the lineup before the current one. Those can't be sold in the Personal Shop...

If you follow the SEGA SAMMY investor relations website you will find out that the more-aggressive monetization approach with NGS is just the tip of the iceberg. NGS is just part of their 3 year plan to expand existing IP (intellectual property) globally while increasing the focus on "Digital Sales" through one-time sales, subscription services, and gacha bait. All for expanding the reach of whatever their new "Super Game" is that is projected to be the new focus in five years.

You can go check it out at https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/release if you wanna. Their five year goal is to resell already known IPs in ways that enable new global audiences to play (which is why NGS was a reset at level 1) to gear up for the new direction they are heading.

@Cult0fpersnality what’s insanity is remaining willfully ignorant that what he’s saying is true. Do you understand corporate business? Getting people to to pay for the “lowest common denominator” is literally their wet dream and ultimate goal (particularly/more so for long standing corporations)

Stop with the assumption and personal attack trope when you can’t argue a point btw. Every single thread has that happening more and more from the exact same people who simply cannot stand to see what’s arguably more than deserved at this point. If it isn’t a troll you shouldn’t be a pos about someone’s opinions or statements

I’m not here to argue like every one of you. But complaining about the same thing non stop for a year and doing nothing about it and not stopping is the definition of insanity bud. Don’t get so defensive bud. This has been the same complaint for the entire duration of Pso2 and nothing changed, at all.

So I leave you with the main question I want to know. Have YOU thanked a whale today?

We need each other! Please don’t try to create devision within the community to bring down the game. Because you’re upset about Sega discussion to remove symbol art from area chat a hurt your illegal money flow.

I’m with this.

Oh, you're talking about whales. There are good ones, there are bad ones. Yes, I am a little grateful to those of them who set adequate prices and take into account the amount of money that an FTP player can earn. BUT! There is one strange thing about them. Let's define who is a whale? this is a person who can afford to throw a huge amount of money into the game. In other words, he is a rich man. But, let's look at the prices on the market? There are acceptable ones and there are absolutely insanely overpriced ones. Question. Why would a whale, who already has a huge amount of money and can afford to buy anything in the game anyway, set high prices? There are several options here.

  • 1 it's not a whales, it's Resellers inflate prices. This is a separate caste of terrible people. Yes, if you are a reseller, you are a bad one. You are a problem for the community.

  • 2 Rich people are no less greedy than poor people. What is the point of being rich then, if you will never get as much as you want anyway? and to be grateful to a greedy person simply for the fact that he sells leftovers for a lot of money... well, I don't know. This is somehow wrong.

What do I want to say? I will not thank a person simply for being rich. But I am always ready to thank the person who does the right thing. If you are a whale, then take into account not only your greed, but also the capabilities of other players, and you can probably count on some kind of gratitude.

UPD. Oh, and I forgot... there is also the 3rd point.

  • 3 These are people who want to appear like whales, but in fact they are spending the last money that they could have spent on much more necessary things. Such as food, clothing. They are the most terrible in this list. Because they do bad things to themselves, they will inflate prices and at the same time they are also waiting for gratitude for this. Victims of SEGA's Greed or any gacha game really

Hmm. Seems like Whale is going the direction of being used as Casual is the go to label to describe bad players.

Soon it is going to be, anyone who spends money be it premium, to a get few extra AC for that one item in a scratch in hopes of a said item will be soon called a Whale. Place any item on the Shop? You're a Whale. Buy anything from the Shop, Whale supporter. Farm for materials to upgrade items, probably a Whale until proven other wise. So on and so forth.

Plus Whales.. such an odd word for the description of those with extra income to waste - does that mean the anti whalers are poachers? There is a fine line here that is gonna be crossed unwillingly and it is going to have horrible, but hysterical outcry.

@Cult0fpersnality said in Take the time to thank your fellow whales in game.:

Without some of us whales dropping money on AC scratch you wouldn’t have anything to buy off the market to begin with. So the next time you’re upset about something being worth too much and not having access to the shop, just remember to thank a whale.

As we keep the items in the shop, some at affordable prices so that the free to play players that can’t sell items in game have options on things to buy.

So remember the next time you want that 800k hairstyle, a whale gave you that opportunity.

You're gonna get hate for saying this

@Viola-Lance there’s already terminologies for those:

Minnows are the free players that might occasionally spend on it.

Dolphins are the mid tier spender, buys premium or a pack or two.

Whales are the big spenders, that shell out hundreds of dollars to obtain stuff.

Most games these days are geared towards capturing whales, but without a healthy ecosystem for dolphins or minnows, the whales move on fast. Cuz shelling out for a game no one is interested in isn’t what whales want.

We need each other .......the comment is to just to create division. It deeper than that. Some people just want to game to fail. Also just pay attention to the timing of this thread.

Sega made a discussion to stop symbol art in area chat and whispers. Sega is kill Mesta sellers money flow.

You going to get a lot of threads about how Sega failed and whales ect....they just getting started.

The game is fine......really enjoyable!

@RainGnyu I personally contacted both kotaku and polygon regarding SA abuse with people spamming anime child porn on my screen. Thanks for your conspiracy though, what’s the next argument to invalidate everyone’s grievances rightfully being brought to the table?

@PBJ-Time Wait, Kotaku is still around? Thought they folded from the pseudo gaming-political journalism dog-eat-dog world and moved on to being a tech company?

@Viola-Lance Is that a joke referencing Peter Thiel throwing his money behind a frivolous lawsuit aimed at their previous parent company Gawker because they made an article critical of Hulk Hogan? It really doesn’t make sense to me seeing that both of their sites I use, Gizmodo and Kotaku still operate as normal

No, it is an honest question. Since they have long gone past their ways from their EGM root inspiration.

I am no means saying Kotaku is Buzzfeed level - yet. But, some how, I thought they moved into the new age tech company profiling of articles and news, to establish more current non gaming / non pop culture topics but current debates based off of what is popular on social media. Could be wrong, hopefully I am. It has been many of summers since I visited them, and the last visit wasn't a good read.

@Viola-Lance idk, I haven’t noticed that really, but they have always sort of had the stereotypical ‘ign’ placating thing going on here and there since I’ve been using their site. It might be getting worse though and it logically makes sense, because whoever bought them after that whole debacle is going to want increased revenue year after year to placate corporate interests (unless whoever bought them is private). I don’t keep up with 100% of it, the same with Gizmodo. I just look in to their stuff about topics that interest me tbh
