Where the content sega?

You don't have numbers so assumptions are meaningless.

We've been over this. Assumptions can be made because these are the trends all platforms will share to some extent which is only logical. The ONLY time you will see a platform buck a trend is if they get some sort of promotion or sale putting the game back into the limelight momentarily for new players to notice or old players to consider returning.

@RainGnyu Seasonal effect is literally where you can compare to other games you blessed child you. And I hate to tell you this, but Sega chose to release at the start of summer. It's their wallet that gets hit by that decision as you will have additional falloff as you point out. However, seasonal falloff does not explain what we are seeing entirely. Not even freaking close and it's a serious joke for you to suggest that especially since you literally just tried telling us all that numbers were increasing. Just sit down, shut up, get some facts, then come back and try to argue a coherent point. Or better yet, don't argue at all. Come back with ideas that can make the game flourish.

You are right .......have fun! I am having fun I really am enjoying the game! I am finding content everywhere everyday!

@Pariah-Chan it stay open in Japan.

@AlexOak for the love of god it is. It's the biggest platform. Now we dit at something like 30 as you add 10k more from Xbox and 20ore from rest of platforms. Thing is you can see in game how full servers are.

Player since 2012 here.

Ship 02 in JP was pretty quiet around Sunday evening JP time, I keep up with it regularly and this is a common theme, even for active JP hours, feedback from others who play JP on different Ship's regularly have said it's been getting less and less populated, which is very similar to Global if you look at the block capacity bars.

Whilst there is no solid evidence the game is "dying" as some have said, nor do I personally believe this, it would be nice to see some progress in content, SEGA has boasted about their registered player numbers for JP in the past but one must recognise that a registered number does not mean much compared to an actively playing number.

This game certainly earns its rent as indicated by financial reports each year, but the progress for a game of 2021 which is targeting a specific audience, it needs more if it wants to keep players interested.

FFXIV and all the other online games can do it, so can PSO2.

I've stuck with it since 2012 out of pure love for Phantasy Star, and even I'm starting to feel like a rubber band being stretched to breaking point, it's just not fun any more when there's so little to do, no events to coordinated with Alliance members, no mini-games o play, no Casino, Personal Quarters, heck there isn't even a Café with chairs players can even sit on, it's not justifiable that the game lacks content when it should have launched with a rock concert in-game, multiple scratches, more story content (they hyped up the story and characters pretty heavy), not even the Cocoon's have any replay value.

I agree the game requires more content, the majority of the content can be completed in a casual weekend's worth of gameplay with some friends and that's pretty much it.

It's a universal issue, not a Global / Cultural one, everyone's feeling tired and a bit fed up across the world, but if they can't push content sooner rather than later yes we will continue to lose regular, active players which are sources of income for SEGA.

I suppose the only thing you can do is continue to talk about it on the forums, send in support tickets and cross your fingers for good luck.

We have a stream coming up soon, hopefully they announce some great new features then.

Ye one more problem most people miss, the defenders mostly,is that the less the game make the less Sega will invest in it.

Just got done finding all the red boxes yesterday, just one more side quest before I’m back to performing in Aelio 001 again. XD

@JoycieC while I won't deny there's a huge drop in players, but that screenshot is not fair. Currently Tuesday night in JP, 7 full blocks, and a few half full ones. Even the low pop blocks has more people than shown in that screenshot.

@JoycieC well they just recently banned a staggering amount of VPN users in JP, so wat you may be seeing is the result of that. 😕

@Pariah-Chan they did not, only the people that had VPN with dynamic IP got banned because marked for suspicious activities. Most of Phantasy Star Fleet that plays on JP are fine.

Isn’t most VPN dynamic IP tho? 😮

@Pariah-Chan depending on the provider, there are ones that gives you a dedicated static IP

Do note that steam does not make the majority of the player base as it does not include windows store, epic, and Xbox player base.

Steam in fact does make the "majority" of the playerbase because thats where the majority of people are playing PSO on.

Also including other plattform into the argument does not weaken that statement because when the biggest platform is losing players then the small ones lose players aswell. NGS and PSO as a whole is losing players on all platforms and most Xbox players also have a Steam account so most Xbox players count double.

Also do i understand that right ? Some people here want prove that numbers on all platform are decreasing but cant deliver prove themself that this is not the case ? Hypocrits. If we are wrong because we "assume" something then so are you guys. Do you guys even listen to yourselfs...its HILARIOUS ! 😂

It does weaken it! You don’t have all the variable elements for the correct hypothesis!

Come on dude stop trying to make it fit you!

@Pariah-Chan I think this is a more representative of JP current population - granted it is ALOT less than the first 2 weeks of NGS where basically all blocks were close to full and they locked character creation on 6 of the 10 ships. But it is definitely not as dire as @JoycieC post is making it out to be.

Tuesday night Ship 2 - 9:40PM JST

While I expect this too, I wouldn't call it fact when we've never really seen any indication of the Xbox/PC split on Global.

and most Xbox players also have a Steam account so most Xbox players count double.

If you're talking about Steam's concurrent player count, players with both Xbox and Steam accounts would only count twice if they were using both accounts at the same time, and even then they'd only count once for each platform with the Xbox ones not being public so it still wouldn't be a +2 to the public Steam number.
