Players skipping boss cutscenes during UQ's.

Occasionally I see players skipping boss cutscenes during urgent quests, however sometimes, especially during Primordial Darkness it can end up botching the entire run when the first phase of the boss breaths on the entire party, wiping them instantly before they descend to the middle platform (as someone descended 5 to 10 seconds earlier, causing the boss to attack earlier)

Is skipping cutscenes within bounds, or is it considered cheating, or even obstruction when it can a negative impact on the rest of the 12-person party?

Cutscene and animation skipping is used a lot in this game especially in speed runs and modes like endless and TA, some examples are:

On the final stage on endless recollection when you’re fighting the castrum demonica you can use pa’s or tech’s to bounce of it and get straight into then telepipe, skipping the final cutscene.

During persona UQ, has he goes into his third phase you can use nagrants and status effect him right out of the cutscene. During this same fight during the Gemini phase you can st the start frrrze him and skip the entire animation of him flying away for a good 30-40 seconds.

During Luther if you get the damage right you can break the beak at the second time stop, and skip it entirely.

You can skip both cutscenes in Primordial the first one is done by jumping down from the gate ship has the mission starts, allowing you to skip the cutscene and doing damage straight away. After defeating the first phase whoever has the fastest loading, if they start the countdown ASAP, anyone that loads in after will skip the cutscene and can damage Sodam if they have some kind of rng attack.

Skipping the initial cutscene doesn’t cause Primordial to spray his breath on people. You save maybe 7 or 8 seconds and that’s not enough time to break all 4 of his eyes before you trigger the cutscene of you jumping down to the lower platform, that’s just a random bug that happens sometimes, same has when the platforms sometimes don’t respawn.

Ohh ok, that would explain it then. I didn't understand what was happening at first, and believed someone was trying to troll the run. But if it's an efficiency thing, then I understand now. Thanks for clarifying!

No problem, yeah it’s not people who are trying to tank the run, but ones who are trying to shave off any time they can. 7 or 8 seconds doesn’t seem like a lot but if you get the entire mpa to do it, except for then person who starts the run, you can get quite a decent amount of free damage in.
