ps02 ngs what it should be and shouldnt be a empty mmo

To SEGA Development team having a single hub zone where all players start from really isnt any different than the current Ps02 hub design in the ship

example having multiple hub zones ( starting point for players ) in one map there should be a Hub zone and on another map there should be another hub zone this would fill in empty spaces on the world map of NGs currently, the map only has one hub zone ( one city) this is empty as warframes open world plains of eidolon.

npc shops npc hunting board npc material trading npc guild reputation npc pvp reward shops

npc pve dungeon achievements

similarly how it it is done from black desert online and ffxiv respectively.

The ps02 ngs feels like a solo game than it does a mmo massively multiplayer.

lack of connecting zones empty spaces without towns or villages.

increase your server power to hold more players on screen and in zones to make the game less empty 5000 players at least

why not add a a npc guild by building enough reputation they are open to exclusive rewards. this would allow each ps02 ngs player to be more connected since they will be sharing the same npc guilds.

pve how about utilizing dungeons and dungeon gameplay with time attack features clearing a dungeon before time expires. 4 player dungeons 6 player dungeons
improving the frame rate so character movement is smoother on screen 60 frames not the 20 or so frame rate we have currently.

pvp better game modes why is it just collecting emblems more teams red and blue, green and purple 4 way team battle 36 player team battles on a open field. Current Maps are unappealing most are blocks of concrete everywhere. more class diversity braver ? double saber ? . more combat options i.e overcoming block with grapple feature perfect blocking incoming projectile or melee ?.

do not make the same mistake as ffxiv where large maps are created that only adds to the emptiness in a map rather make smaller maps with more things in them. by making a large map into a smaller map you can add more map zones for players to travel too.

if the game quality is going down due to not making enough money ps02 ngs should charge players 4 dollars a month to play. This would give the developers incentive to further expand the game.

ps02 ngs isnt fun as it could be current ps02 is the boring repetitive cycle of monthly new scratch every month lackluster boss fights that are easy with typical rewards missing mmo dungeons and other game modes that are found in most mmos. ugly outdated graphics this makes the game very unappealing . with bad frame rate character movement is not smooth on screen. without a console release this games popularity wont increase to the broader players

as mmos we want to be unique have our own selling point to the players however taking inspiration from other mmos would be great, as they have certain game designs much more appealing than ps02s.

Why fill it just for the sake of it? If they all have the same shops, there is no reason to go between them, and if they don't, it's a stupid limitation just to give it a to reason exist, which wasn't necessary to begin with.

currently, the map only has one hub zone ( one city) this is empty as warframes open world plains of eidolon.

But is it as fake of a version of a hub as warframes pathetic attempt at open world?

Really? Good.

Time limits? Ugh...

4 player dungeons 6 player dungeons

You can do most things in a group, why does it have to be forced on people? Let me guess: better rewards, right?

pvp

As we all know(those of us who are honest about it anyway), nothing will make PvP popular enough to justify the expenses wasted on it.

Hey, as long as it's filled with enemies, i'm happy. Other people would just ruin it.

Monthly fee = I quit. Considering how all scratches seem to sell like hotcakes, i don't think they have a problem with making money. What they do with the money is another thing entirely.

Just like all game as a service games. If you know one that's different, let me know. Since we both know it doesn't exist, no need to bother though.

however taking inspiration from other mmos would be great, as they have certain game designs much more appealing than ps02s.

Unless they do the same as Digital Extremes where they copy things from other games to shoehorn them as a lesser version into warframe.

Multiple Hub zones would create ghost towns and or make them all look dead. I'd argue we should have the entire hub area smaller than what we have now so we don't have dead areas that no one goes to.

I don't think consoles could handle 5000 players in one area if it was doable for them server side. I also think that's overkill but of course I wouldn't say no if they did it.

I agree on don't make the map too huge and empty.

Keep pvp out. Doesn't work well in these kinds of games.

Monthly subscription MMOs are long dated lol. Only reason the few older MMOs are still running it is because they can get away with continuing. F2P is more profitable with how they are doing already (or B2P).

@Yggranya PS02 Ngs open world is like that of warframes eidolon cetus city.

NGS

1 hub zone in a giant map

@NuclearPenguin multiple hubzones would connect players from other ships s as these are hubzones they wouldnt be empty

@Golden_Syrup So it does what a hub is supposed to with all services available in the same place? I don't see the problem.

NGS lacks many features of today's MMOs, it is almost as if it were select for a group of people rather than the world. so I don't think it is a game that aims to have millions of users, therefore it will not be very successful. A game that is focused for everyone, it should have all kinds of features, if they are presented only as iterating in obtaining equipment by killing mobs, it will not be able to keep the audience for long and there will be other MMOs that take on that large audience soon

What's even ps02? This is a PSO2 forum. Or did they make a sequel to PSZero that i'm unaware of?

@Chantro sega needs make MMo features

What features are you talking about for example? I felt like PSO2 has a little more than other MMOs with having little minigames like the casino (I hope they bring this back but improved in the future). I will say I hope they add some exploration type stuff for people who like that kind of thing (being optional ofcourse).

Every MMO I played was about getting gear and doing end game content like PSO2 with the except of some really old MMOs that had sandbox elements.

pvp, raids, dungeons, craft gear, professions, housing, mount, sea combat? of the MMOs I've played, at least those:D. I like the casino, but that's from pso2 and not from ngs, hopefully this one has it too

PSO2/NGS are not really MMOs, they're online action RPGs like Monster Hunter, but anyway, about the features you mentioned:

  • pvp - as we can see with the current PSO2, pvp is not worth it for this kind of game, the time that would take to develop pvp for NGS is better spent in other more important features
  • raids - urgent quests bosses, gigantix bosses
  • dungeons - towers (though there was only one in the NGS beta, but I hope there will be more varied dungeons locations, instead of only the VR space)
  • craft gear - they tried that with Phantasy Star Universe, it was an awful idea
  • professions - don't really fit with the kind of game that NGS is, it's better for gathering mats to be doable with any combat class
  • housing - it's possible that NGS will have personal quarters eventually, just not at launch
  • mounts - NGS already has a fast traversal option in the form of the dash, I guess mounts would just be redundant
  • sea combat - there's swimming in NGS, hopefully this is something they can expand on in the future

If NGS is not an MMO then would it make sense that it lacks those features? If it is, then people who look for MMOs (2021+) and find NGS, and after playing see that it lacks features, will be disappointed. remember that now it will be a game that aims at more than just Japan, so if you want to have a large audience you will have to appeal something more than just beautiful graphics (2021+):D

People already have experiences with MMOs and / or open world games and they expect more and more, so the difficulty of $atisfying the taste should be more and more difficult, and I think that to have the public of all kinds entertained it is necessary to give more options in the game that just grinding(?:D)

@Chantro I'm not saying that NGS shouldn't have more features other than fighting monsters, but some of the features from traditional MMOs don't really fit the kind of game that PSO2 and NGS are or they would just make the game worse (such as crafting gear and professions), and some of the features you mentioned are already in NGS (raids and dungeons, though the only real dungeon in the beta was more of a tutorial).

I think it would be necessary something like arena or team battles (well implemented and without playability restrictions), to give another reason to obtain equipment, being optimistic I think they will add something like that in the near future. The graphics look good and the pj cutomization system is better for me than in any other game, I feel that it lacks a little more game options and it could be a game with a good amount of population (I do not think it is necessary that the game has all the things from the other games to date, just a little more than what they have shown):D
