Cheap one shot mechanics are not good game design

We all been there, the new UQ boss decides to use a one shot mechanic, fine and all but at that exact moment the game slaps on some CC (crowd control) BS such as immobile and even is you cured your self you are too late. game over, GG! I hate this so much. its cheap and unfun.

also unbreakable frozen is BS. being thrown to the floor electrified the exact moment you click sol atomizer is BS infinite confusion AOE puddles on that god awful toy UQ boss is BS This game has way too much CC and it is starting to get really annoying.

not everyone plays a scion, genius.

dodge is universal

oh please, you think scoin dodge is the same as regular classes? lmao.

It is, specially since almost all classes sub the scions now, which gives something like +0.13s to all regular dodges (other than Illusion).

@Ki-Rin FWIW, if you get frozen you can still change weapons so you can switch to an Atlas to avoid dying. This only works once per mission, but at least it offers a little forgiveness.

If we're talking about "frozen" then this is most likely about getting hit by Sodams ice spikes right before his "get behind the pillars" attack during the second phase of the fight. The issue here is that "the Atlas potential saving you" is also just a gamble as the "OHKO attack" applies another round of 15-20 seconds of freeze onto the player so unless you get saved by another player (which I wouldn't count on) or you have another will to burn through it's pretty much GG right there. So yes, the OP is absolutely right about some mechanics being overly punishing. There are also other examples of the game being overly / needlessly punishing but luckily they're rather rare.

yeah it really is annoying. same with the immobilize electric like effect.

Unsurprisingly, the longer a game goes on, the more of this kind of trash gets added. I don't know what game developers who do this try to prove, but it's lazy as can be.

You can use Freeze Guard ring.

well these rings exist

And they are completely unviable given how situational they are, to compete there would have to be a combined one that also gets you attack and increased status infliction rate.
