Account Suspended

I just got kicked from the game and when I tried to log back in I received a message telling me that my account is suspended for 168 hours. I have no idea why and was wondering if this has happended to anyone else yet. I never chat so I couldn't have said anything offensive, I just play in the casino, do urgent quest when they come up and grind alone most of the time or try and join random parties to make it easier. Please help!

Did you redeem multiple gamepass rewards?

I used 2 of them but only one worked. Is that really the issue?

Yeah, it's an exploit.

You've got to be kidding me. It doesn't even reward you more than once. That's not an exploit.

There are two scenarios:

  1. Initially Game Pass Ultimate had an issue where if you tried to redeem the code they gave you it said "You already own PSO2". They then took the Perk offline. Then this morning (the 19th) they turned it back on and sent out new keys to everyone. If you wrote down the first key and used it then noticed the Perk was still there and redeemed the second key MS sent you then you got suspended. This is absolutely MS's fault for not invalidating the first keys. Punishing these players, which they can easily identify, for a week is ridiculous. Take the items from them.

  2. The ACTUAL exploit was people making(or using) throw-away email accounts and signing them up to Game Pass Ultimate for $1 and then using the key on their normal account. MS can easily track this and should have just banned the people actually exploiting. When you generate a key it is assigned to your Xbox account. They could of easily saw one account with keys from other accounts redeemed on it.

Instead they did a blanket ban. So the people who got sent two keys legitimately pay the price for MS screwing up Game Pass Perks at the start.

Thank you for the in depth look of it. I appreciate it. I sent in a ticket to support to hopefully resolve the issue. It's really upsetting. Been waiting so long for this game, bought the ragol and will be getting the sonic edition and I've gotten so many of my friends to play the game. Then this happens, it's really frustrating. I've just been grinding the game and minding my own, had no intention of trying to exploit or anything. I would just like to get back as soon as possible.

@GRADIO231 I never expected MS to send new keys out when they fixed the issue or at the very least make it so only one perk per account but looks like they didn't do either of those.

They should of removed the items from people who had duplicates but any account with more than 2 of each item had to do the actual exploit and should be suspended.

That explains why I seen an another perk redeem on Xbox Pass Player Perks. I just assume it was an another player perk award redeem since I kept my original QR code link from yesterday open on my phone to redeem soon as it worked since I kept trying it. I had an another player perk award and assume it was something else till I redeemed it and seen the items in-game were the same and checked the website and seen it was suppose to be 1 per account.

I had sent a ticket about it before I just found out I was suspended, guess I should update my ticket and mention I got suspended too.

Feels highly unfair to get suspended something on Microsoft part, I even had sent a ticket on it soon as I learned on this website that set was for suppose to be only 1 per account.

Yup, MS screwed up and we, the players, pay the price. It is easy for them to see what account generated the codes and could easily have just suspended the people with codes from other accounts (although what if your friend gave you their code?). This is all on MS.

Sadly, according to PSO2 support the suspensions were put there by MS and MS support says we need to contact PSO2 support.... so clearly there is a miscommunication still continuing between MS and Sega.

I had contacted Microsoft support yesterday to report the bug too after I seen this website mention the items were suppose to be 1 per account. Microsoft support chat said they forwarded my report to the engineer team at Microsoft and that I should go ahead and report it on the xbox insider app too. This was all before I was suspended since I was reporting a reward perk glitch that obviously was not intended after I receive the same items.

I guess I just have to wait and see what PSO2 support says, I did update my ticket.

Checked with MS and they flat out told me my account is not suspended and there is nothing they can do if the suspension is inside a specific game. I have to reach out to PSO2 Support for that issue.

Sadly PSO2 support has been told its Microsoft who did the suspensions and only they can fix it. I just keep going around and around in a circle.

This is such a headache. If you are going to do kneejerk suspensions then you need to make sure you are suspending the actual people exploiting and not the people caught up in MS's screw-up with the Game Pass Perks.

I just submitted a request to PSO2 support as well to see what they will tell me on the matter. I, unfortunately, do not think anything will end up happening outside of just waiting the week.

Yeah, I'm inclined to believe Microsoft can't really do much about this, despite it being a Microsoft bug to begin with. Best they can do is fix the bug and call it a day, but PSO2 is the one handling the suspensions.

One thing to note from an image I saw of someone who got suspended is that you have to contact PSO2 Support about it, not Microsoft.

We've done that and PSO2 support was told MS handed out the suspensions so they have to deal with it. Miscommunication everywhere it seems.

Thankfully GM Dengar let the support team know but its up to them to fix the issue.

Looks like Supster131 has it right. Even though they screwed up, we are going to pay the price for their mistake.

Hello ARKS Operative, Thank you for reaching out to us and we're very sorry to hear about the issue you've encountered with your account. Beginning to regret ever bothering to play the NA version and should of just stayed on the JP version. If this is the level of support then I don't see this version being successful in the long run. Hoping they do the right thing asap.
