One Major Update Away, How Do You Feel?

With today's update confirming basically all receptors, cras units, new UQ, and some additional quests. I think that brings us only 1 last major update, which will probably be some other things + Graphical Engine update. 😄

How do you feel? I'm so excited even though NGS is also approaching. For me, before NGS comes out, I'm going to use/waste all my resources in vanilla PSO2 (meseta, augment passes, badges, etc.) For now, I believe Sodam (Primordial Darkness) and something else is missing. Are you still waiting for NGS or might play now to be part of the vanilla PSO2 legacy?1! For those hardcore games, I think Guardian Soul will be possible in ~2 weeks, but you can definitely already make the fodders now (but I'm waiting for boost week, when is that, because we have support ??) I'm thinking maybe a boost week, 1 week after Sodam is out?

Graphics engine update will probably still take a while, at the moment we don't have an exact date for it even for the JP version, since it was delayed to sometime during March.

So I'd say that there's at least 2 major updates left, if not more.

Content left to be released:

  • Final boss urgent
  • Solo ultimate quest
  • Divide quests steps 31~35
  • New challenge quest
  • Graphics engine update (not available yet on JP)
  • Screenshot studio (not available yet on JP)
  • New event limited quest (not available yet on JP)
  • ARKS Ship Fire Swirl urgent (not available yet on JP)

There's also some smaller content to come too, like Easter event/urgent, maybe even White Day? (White Day could end up being skipped though).

We have a few QoL and progression limit tweaks as well, don't we? I'm sure I'd heard something about weekly individual alliance point caps raising from 4,500 to 50,000 and we definitely don't have that.

On the whole I feel good. It'll be nice to have as much parity with JP as we're likely to get. I wonder what they'd try to do to keep the broader playerbase invested after our new seasonals end, especially if NGS gets pushed back, but that's more a curiosity than a want on my part since I'm still catching up on the last new Extreme quests, haven't gotten as much into Endless as I'd like and have yet to start Divide quests. 😅

I'm generally pleased, despite the bumps in the road we've had along the way.

I'm so happy I got to play this game in its entirety. I'm glad I had the "PSO2" experience (may not be as pure as the JP version but eh no biggie).

Summoner CF when? Sega are literally starving the class right now.

Quote For Emphasis.

Other than that and getting the last bits of content soon, I guess I am looking forward to the graphics update.

Disappointed, mainly because they choose a vertical progression structure for the game so the amount of viable content is needlessly limited. There is also no telling what they are going to do with the base game once NGS releases, there is a lot of potential here (not just in regards to new content but also in regards to old one that could use some overhaul) and things they still could do which wouldn't fit into NGS but even if they decide to add new content I fear that it would just be another round of power creep instead of them actually adding on to the existing content.

NGS also doesn't get me excited, I play mostly for the gameplay and the gameplay I want isn't in NGS so unless that's going to change I'll probably only play it for the related SG acquisition.

Panic because I don’t have literally everything yet and I want to carry it all with me to NGS! I’m still missing the Shiva SG emotes, a couple of accessories and one outerwear and I’m feeling the pressure. I’m taking the content one day at a time, I recently unlocked the Primordial Darkness part of the story but didn’t beat it yet. Not worried about gear, it’s fine for the final push.

Fashion is the true end game, quite literally.

SG life. It's really a shame how badly it was balanced on Global.

I know, it sucks so much. I’m out of titles to get the choice tickets easily like Fallen Heroes so the grind is rough. I’d settle for just one, I need the cross legged Shiva emote. 😞

Hello all! So, in addition to SG items, I understand there is a Summoner item missing? What did you mean by "Summoner CF" @Amari-Kigu ? What other items are you still missing @Milk ?

I think they mean Collection Folder.

in addition to SG items

To be clear the complaint is the same as it always was: Our four SG scratch sets are effectively four pairs of two SG scratches on Japan. Besides the larger prize lists making it take more scratches to get the prizes we want, the eight sets JP had spanned a combined total of 1,680 days to earn SG between June 2016 and January 2021. In Global for all that content we've had just 391 days (about 23% of the time) and most in-game SG income limits how much you can earn per week.

Despite that, the scratches are no cheaper, and our SG supply has been somewhat comparable to JP week-on-week (our version of Mission Pass broadly balancing out JP having PSO2es and IDOLA). It would roughly even out, though I'd assert the need to keep up with a constant rush of content and campaigns on Global has made it less workable to earn Casino and Buster SG than it was on JP, and Battle Arena is unfair outside NA.

More than that though we also have Fresh Finds acting as a massive SG sink, which JP never had since the vast majority of content that appears in Fresh Finds has been taken out of AC-based sources (chiefly AC scratches). This has been a nasty problem since buying an outfit that was AC-based on JP costs 400 SG - effectively 5 SG scratches - instead of the maybe 20 million meseta it would have been.

In short our SG expenses have been enhanced, combined and then added to compared to what Japan had, and our time to earn SG to pay for it has been severely reduced. Global players have basically needed to choose which content to sacrifice that we'd have been able to comfortably get if Global had had an income/expenditure balance that was even half as good as JP.

I still praise the extension of our SG scratches from the 2 months they were originally going to be; we don't have things nearly as bad as they would have been had that never happened and I've personally benefit from the overlap allowing me to finish Mother's Disciples with enough SG to enable scratching Fallen Heroes at all. But our SG situation is still very dire compared to what it's been on JP.

And if NGS starts with an SG scratch it'll probably be balanced around the expectation of JP players having saved much more SG than Global players have been able to, this is also a concern for that.

There are many summoner sweets that either haven't had an appropriate source for their intended progression point (Support Roll for instance has been included in multiple items of previously-forwarded feedback) or simply haven't appeared on Global at all (whatever the translation is for Fluffy Roll and Conversion Roll).

For the most part (including Support and Conversion Roll) these seem to be available on JP from the Collection Folder system, which is what Amari-Kigu meant by CF, and were previously available from now-removed Astracite exchanges that Global never had in the first place.

Currently expecting things to calm down and become rather quiet.

Preparing fashion to take into NGS is at least something to do in the meantime.
